Beginning on Monday, July 18, when you pass through the Merkin Building (415 Main) lobby, you will see installation work in progress for the upcoming new Broad Discovery Center. Due to museum installation work, the lobby is closed to events (but open to Broadies entering and exiting the building) until September 30, 2022. During construction there will be a small reception/waiting area for Broad guests across from the security desk, near the Auditorium.
During this time, external contractors will be working in the space to install 18 exhibit structures, lighting, and AV equipment. Broadies will still be able to enter and exit the building normally, and you'll be able to access the Olympus conference room for COVID testing as usual. However, the lobby will be unavailable for events.
Launching in the fall of 2022, the Broad Discovery Center will be a welcoming, active educational space that showcases how researchers at the Broad and our partner institutions are deciphering the root causes of disease. Broad’s museum team has been working with external consultants and many Broad groups to design and develop content for five galleries in total, where visitors can immerse themselves in interactive and informative exhibits.
