A large library of software is available to Broad researchers on shared computing resources. Some of this software is freely available and some is licensed (e.g. Matlab), either by the Broad or by individual research groups. The majority of this software is supported on our Linux hosts and made available to the Broad Linux computing infrastructure using dotkit.

Some commercial scientific software (e.g. Matlab and Spotfire) is available on Broad desktop and laptop systems.

Software available only under Windows is made available on three terminal servers, which can be access either from Windows or from Macintoshes using the Windows Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) mechanism.

BITS accepts requests for additions and updates to the Linux software library.  We prioritize requests based on the likelihood of serving a larger number of people.
